Newton Centre / Mackenzie Center
1337 Center Street, Newton Center: From the
corner of Beacon and Centre Street, take Centre Street southwards one
big block, staying on the right side of the street. When you see Holly
Cleaners on your left and Sacred Heart Parish on your right, turn right
onto Crescent Street (just after the church). Take your next left into
the parking lot of the Mackenzie Center, which is the social hall
associated with the church. You may park here for class despite the
signs, but please do not park here before or after class for a
Newton-Center-excursion! Enter through the North door--the door which
is on your left as you face the building from the parking lot.
Strollers, if any, could be left here in the entry. Come up a
half-flight of stairs, cross the stage, turn right to come through the
large meeting room and across to the small classroom, which is ours. No
food or drink in the classroom, please. After class, please remove your
car from the lot promptly.
MapQuest Directions
Wells Avenue/Dance Fever / Russian School of Math, 200 Wells Avenue, Newton, near Needham. From Newton Centre, take Centre Street southwest
(away from Newton Corner) past Newton Highlands and under Route 9 where
it turns into Winchester Street. At the intersection with Needham
Street, there's a light; continue straight on Winchester Street. Where
it ends, turn right on Nahanton. (Nahanton Street may also be reached
from Kendrick Street in Needham.) At the first light, instead of
turning right into the JCC, turn left onto Wells Avenue. Take your
first left to remain on Wells and then the third driveway on your right
is #200, home of the Russian Math School and Dance Fever Studios. Mapquest and GPS are approximately correct; when you near the location, follow the street numbers to the right place on the circle. The building has two parking lots; use the one that is available, and you will find plenty of free parking. Go in the front door and take a right
and follow the hallway around. Our room is the first studio on the
left. No food or drink or shoes in the room due to the sparkling
hardwood floors!
OR From Route 128, take Exit 19A onto Highland Ave heading into Newton.
Take your first right on First Avenue and follow as it forces you to
turn left onto B Street and right onto Third Avenue. At the end of
Third Avenue turn left onto Kendrick/Nahanton. At the light, turn right
onto Wells Avenue and continue as above.
Auburndale Siagel Productions / Dance Academy 94 Rowe Street. Take Commonwealth Avenue West from Newton Center. On your right, before the Shaw's supermarket, you will see an A-frame Dance Academy sign. Turn right onto Rowe Street and cross the Commonwealth Avenue carriage lane. After one block turn right at the stop light and go slowly over speed bumps until you nestle up against the Massachusetts Turnpike. Park anywhere. Enter Siagel Productions and go back to the end of the hall on the left, to the newest dance studio. No shoes, no food please!
Temple Emanuel 385 Ward Street. From Center Street, turn East on Ward Street. Take third left onto Ashford Road, immediately before the temple. Park on the right, onstreet or in the temple's lot. Take the stroller ramp or stairs to the temple's side entrance, lower level. Pass the education office on the right and ignore the staircase. Take two rights past the Housman Activity Center into the Feldberg classroom. After class, the Housman Activity Center is open for free play and networking.
